Piranha Plant - Chomping Fidget Toy

Bill of Materials
Description
The humble Piranha Plant from the Super Mario series. Basically a more complicated version of my V2 Chain Chomp chomping fidget toy, with a couple extra variations.
Plates 1 and 2 you'll want regardless for the red and white parts.
Plate 3 has most of the green parts, including a pipe that will fit either the long vine, or the short stubby vine, both vines fit the leaves.
Plate 4 has a smooth black disc, and 2 halves of a half fuzzy skin disc, these represent the inside of either the pipe, or the soil in the pot.
Plate 5 has the pot you see in most of my pics.
Plate 6 has another pipe, which is coincidently the same one I used with the Chain Chomp to keep it from rolling around, this one just fits the Piranha Plant head without the vines or leaves as seen in the later pipe pic. This plate also has the keyring attachment bits if that's more your style.
Assembly is also a bit more complicated:
- Start with inserting the white dots around the two head pieces. Some may be slightly looser fits than others, so a drop of adhesive may be necessary. Be mindful of the 5 shorter dots that fit into part of the head that disappears into the other half.
- While you've got the glue out, put the red mouth pieces over the teeth, the two long vine halves together, and two pairs of leaf halves together.
- Assemble the three hinge piece together.
- Now comes the tricky part, assembling the head. Hold off on any gluing until you've got all the parts properly aligned for a bit here. Start by slotting the hinge into the upper half of the head. You can also add the teeth over the mounting pegs here too.
- Align the upper half of the head into the cavity in the lower half, while starting to slide the lower hinge into place
- Before that's fully seated, add the lower teeth piece over the mounting pegs on the lower head half, while fully seating the hinge from the top head half. It may be a bit finicky of an install, but I believe in you.
- Next part is up to you and how you want to mount it, either attach the head to the long stem or short stem. There isn't much room on the head to provide a slot for the peg to fit in, so while it may be rotate with a little bit of force, you may want to add a drop of glue in there to secure it.
- The leaves should easily slot into either vine piece, may be best to add a drop of glue in there as well though.
- If you're using the taller pipe or pot, you can pop in either the flat black disc or fuzzy disc, and either vine should be able to slide right on in to the center.
- Or you can just leave the head sitting on the short pipe. That route may be best if you want to mount it on a wall or vertical surface.
- If you want it as a keychain, forget all the pipes and vines and whatnot and just print the little disc and chain link on plate 6. Slip the end of the key ring over the link, insert it into the two holes on the little disc, then slot that into the base of the head. A drop of glue at each of those joints will help.
- Chomp away!
