AA Battery Magazine
Designed specifically for my AA & AAA battery AR-15 magazine holders. The magazines slide into the base clips and can be displayed in multiple angles. The arms can be rotated to many different angles depending on how you want to display your magazine. Included parts for assembly:
- Main base pad
- Vertical post and base insert
- Mount arms (two per base)
- Magazine base clip
- Nut & bolt to clamp arms to vertical post
- Hex rods for holding magazine base clip to mounting arms. Rods lengths provided: 30mm, 100mm & 200mm
- Bolts for ends of hex rods. keeps base from sliding off end of hex rod - see photos.
Assembly
- The vertical hex post is slid into the base insert and then pushed into the main base pad. The tolerance on all these parts is tight to prevent needing any screws. You may have to use some force to push them together.
- The mount arms are held in place on the vertical post with the nut and bolt. Align the raised lines on the vertical post to the recesses on the inside face of the mount arms larger hex end and tighten the nut & bolt. Careful not to tighten to much.
- The magazine base clip is then pushed onto the smaller hex end of the hex rod.
- The shortest hex rod is then slid through the side of the base clip and arms. It will take a bit of wiggling to get things aligned. The tolerances are set up to allow a small amount of friction but the hex rod should slide without much force when things are aligned.
- Screw the short bolts on each side of the hex rod.
- When using more than one main base and a longer hex rods - a base clip will be installed at each main base pad and other base clips can be install between them. A hole for a 3mm set screw in the back of base clip is provided to prevent the inner base clips from moving. This is not required for the holder to work.
- There are mounting slots on the bottom of the Main Base Pad to allow it to be hung on a wall or other surface.
- There are recesses in the bottom for 10mm dia max rubber pads to keep the base from sliding.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions on areas to improve. This is the first version of this magazine holder.
The plates are set up for a 256x256 plate but all can be printed on an A1 Mini as organized except for the longer hex rods. Those would need to be rotated to fit on the A1 Mini bed.
