Description

Updates

9. Nov 2023 - Added multiple new versions. Both with higher and lower angle (to fit more doors) AND all versions with a normal and a pointy version (where the tip is not rounded, to fit under doors with less space below)

Description

Want a minimalistic doorstop, that is easy to print and uses the material flexibility to lock the door in place - then look no further!

Overview

This doorstop comes in multiple sizes, and can be scaled to your liking. So give it a go, try it out, and if you want, print another one that is smaller/bigger, stronger or more flexible - to be the perfect fit for your door!

Sizes

The model comes in 24 versions now.

It comes in 4 sizes:

  • Small
  • Medium
  • Large
  • X-Large

There are also 3 angles to fit different space below different doors:

  • Low angle
  • Default
  • High angle

And there are 2 styles of the tip

  • Default (rounded at the tip)
  • Pointy (to fit under very tight spaces)

All of the versions are 40 mm in width as standard, but can be scaled up and down in the slicer (just scale the Z direction)

Print instructions

  • Speed on first layer: 50% (To ensure good bed adhesion)
  • Infill: 0% (to make the model 'springy’)
  • Top/bottom layers: 0
  • Perimeters: 2-3 (try out different combinations - the ‘springyness’ is very depending on this parameter AND the material of your choice!)

You can also to a stylised version with exposed infill if you like that look. Makes the model less flexible, but more stylised - your choice.

  • Infill: 5-15%
  • Infill pattern: Honeycomb (or gyroid or whatever you like the best!)

Happy printing!

Some hot glue on the top and the bottom might help in holding the door

printed very well with your profile. Unfortunately it can't hold my door on my tiled floor, because it's too smooth (PLA). I might try to create a tpu sock to stop it from sliding over the floor. not sure if I’ll succeed though 😅 -UPDATE- Created now the TPU sock and this has improved it a lot for me. Tried ABS aswell. it’s less flexible, but it’s much worst in holding the door (even with the sock) If you are interested, I've uploaded the sock: https://makerworld.com/en/models/151245
