Description

UPDATE: 2023-11-14: Now with improved clips on the ring part.

 

This is a great and versatile fidget toy that can easily slip into a pocket. It is very tactile to play with and can be screwed, twist, rotated and spun.

 

This does not require support material, and clips together.

 

Assembly instructions:

  1. Thread the centre nut onto 1 of the bolt sections all of the way to the end.
  2. Push the 2 bolt sections together. It should be a firm fit that cannot be pulled apart easily. If it can be pulled apart, use a superglue drop on one of the flat sections.
  3. Lay 1 of the outer rings on the table
  4. Position the centre bolt so that it straddles the outer ring.
  5. Position the other outer ring on top and align the connectors. When in place, press firmly down onto the table (be sure to put pressure onto both at the same time). This will take a little effort.

That's it! Fidget away!

Printed this for grandma (apparently fidget toys can be good for people with dementia) Used the designer profile, had no trouble. I did break the first set of rings while trying to assemble them while not being gentle at all and in a rush. Second time I did is responsibly and it worked. Thanks op!

Great design and simple assembly, however the clips that hold the locking rings are exceptionally fragile and can break in less than a few minutes of regular use.

Sorry, Chris, that you've had problems with the clips. They are fine, but this is the first time that I have heard or seen an issue. I will put my mind to see if there is a way that I can make them stronger. Rather than reprint the rings, I would suggest just a drop of superglue in between the pillars (as a temporary fix).

the way it clicks together is finicky and defina weak point . but it's a cool print.
