Description

Why go to the casino when you can print the casino? Introducing my fully-3D-printable roulette wheel! Works almost exactly like the real thing except much smaller! You can now live out all your Vegas dreams from the comfort of your own home!

The wheel is printed in two main parts, the base and the wheel itself. The numbers are printed separately and glued into place. I printed the base of mine with Hatchbox Wood PLA and followed that up with some sanding and staining. The wheel itself is Duramic Copper PLA.

Printing tips:

If you print the base in wood PLA as I did, I recommend sanding the inside of the base to remove any rough spots to facilitate maximum spin. If you use regular PLA, it should be plenty smooth enough but it doesn't hurt to check for any bumps.

To print the numbers, print the first layer in white, pause the print, swap for the appropriate color, and resume (obviously this is not required if you have an MMS). Once printed, just line them up carefully around the wheel and glue them in place with your preferred adhesive (I used Loctite Professional Super Glue).

The ball should be printed with 100% infill to add extra weight. It's a bit too light otherwise and has more potential to fly off the wheel.

Both STL and STEP files are available for download. The STEP files will result in a smoother print if your slicer supports them.

Be sure to post your makes! If you like the design, please consider tipping on Ko-fi. Thank you! :-)

Nice design, spins well. Used a ball bearing ball (for the ball) as it is heavier. This makes the wheel feel more realistic and prevents the ball from flying out.

I am sorry, where did you put the ball bearing? I printed the roulette but it does not spin at all...

I used a ball bearing ball for the roulette ball. There is nowhere to put a full bearing for the roulette wheels actual spinning function.

This roulette wheel works really well. I used a small marble to get a smoother rolling.

How do you prevent it from the marble falling out?

I have used a heavier marble. Maybe that is the reason for not falling out that often. But you are right, sometimes the marble is still falling out. I am not sure how to prevent it.

Works great, boosted, thank you! We used creality wood pla, a little sanding and a few drops of rubik's cube lubricant we had and this thing spins for a really long time! Couldn't get the ball to stick to my bed so just using a marble.

It works pretty well, but it doesn’t spin for too long and it’s kind of an arts and craft project because I had to sand it down a lot and replace the middle with the bottom of the metal part of a pin to make it spin well. Also you definitely need to get a different ball.
