Description

Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Inspired Clock

This clock is inspired by the iconic Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional, famously worn during the Apollo 11 mission. I've created a clock that pays homage to this legendary timepiece, and I'm thrilled to share it with you.

Printing Specifications

  • Nozzle Size: 0.4mm
  • Layer Height: 0.2mm
  • Walls: 2
  • Infill: 15% gyroid
  • Note: Do not hit the arrange button when printing, as it will separate the pieces from their correct positions.

Recommended Print Plates

  • Dial Plate: Textured PEI plate (requires support for tabs)
  • Bezel Plate: Smooth PEI plate

Filaments Needed

  • Black
  • Silver (preferably metallic or silk)
  • White
  • Glow in the dark (optional for an accurate look; if unavailable, use white)

Hardware Needed

  • 7x M3 x 4mm conical screws
  • 1x Bambu Clock Kit 011

Assembly Instructions

  1. Bezel and Dial:

    1. Line up the top of the bezel with the top of the dial.
    2. Use 4 M3 screws to attach the dial to the bezel through the 4 tabs.
    3. Insert the remaining 3 M3 screws from the back of the dial, screwing them through until they protrude slightly. Attach the 3 small chronograph hands and position as desired.

  2. Clock Mechanism:
    1. Insert the clock mechanism into the slot on the back of the dial, ensuring it is fully seated.
    2. Attach the thin brass nut onto the post protruding from the front of the dial and tighten.
  1. Hands:
    1. Attach the hour hand first, pushing it onto the larger part of the post as far as it will go without excessive force.
    2. Next, attach the minute hand similarly onto the smaller part of the post.
    3. For the second hand, pry the small pin piece from the second hand included in the clock kit. Push the pin through the printed second hand from the top, and insert the end of the pin into the hole at the end of the mechanism post.
    4. Ensure all hands move freely without contacting each other
  1. Final Steps:
    1. Insert the battery into the mechanism.
    2. Set the time.

Enjoy your Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional inspired clock!

been holding onto my 011 clock kit waiting for a worthy build! Something finally posted! this is super cool! I couldn't run glow thru my AMS lite, so I couldn't do the ticks. I had to settle for the entire hands. Can't wait to show this off to people. I love when the print paints the individual colors on the first layer. Simply amazing and fun to watch.

I was able to use Bambu lab blue glow with AMs without issue.

How did you get the black to print so nice? I’m having a lot of trouble with mine on the smooth plate. I’ve tried different heats, fan speeds, supports and still have failed so many times.

do you not have the small chronograph hands attached with screws here?

You should mention not to do the flow calibration when printing the bezel plate. I ended up with a musical staff on the bottom of mine.

man I am 85% with the print and just realized I will have the same problem, came here to check if anybody mentioned that and you're the first one. I guess we are a bit slower than all the others then :'(

Haha. Not the first or last print I’ve done this to, but this was the most glaring that required a reprint. All turned out well in the end.

After some update they have moved the purge line from the corner to the bottom. The bezel will not fit. Is there option to move purge line back to the corner?

Nice model, but there are too many problems with the hands. First of all, some of them are not on the build plate, so you have to move them on Z to make it work. Also, the minute and the seconds’ hands fit too lose, so I had to scale them to 93% and 91%. Had to print them many times to make it work.
Other Issues:Hands not on the bed and too lose for the clock kit

Is it OK to print the main dial piece with the prime tower in the middle? Bambu Studio gives a collision warning.. just want to be sure (I don't *think* there would be collisions, but better safe than sorry!)
