Description

Christmas is approaching fast and something which I have wanted to do for quite some time is a Solitaire board with a difference, one which can be used with either pegs or steel balls.

This board is the 2nd iteration as my first attempt was far too small as I was wanting to use 6mm steel balls so I upped the anti so to speak.

The board and its components use many of the tools available within Fusion 360 and its good to have a play around with it.

To compliment the Solitaire board are the 3D printed pegs which can be used or 11mm steel balls or maybe marbles, I didn't have any marbles to try unfortunately but I did have the steel balls to hand, to further compliment the board there is a lidded container for the pegs or Steel Balls.

All components printed as is with no support with the exception of the peg's which I flipped over.

Would nice in some brighter colours, I only have Blue and Black PLA at this moment in time.

All in all just a bit of fun but a great project to make and would make an ideal gift for someone.

Rules of the game

The objective is to remove all the steel balls or pegs from the board except one, by making valid moves according to the following rules:
1: Player starts off by removing the center piece.
2: Select a piece and jump over the adjacent one into a vacant hole.
3: Never jump diagonally, always horizontally or vertically.
4: The ‘jumped over’ piece is removed from the board.
5: The player repeats this move until there are no more pieces left to jump over.
6: The game is over when the player cannot jump over any of the other pieces.
7: The player can only finish a game successfully, by landing in the center hole with the final move.

Having solved this puzzle, refill the board and remove a marble from any other cup and again finish in the cup that was left empty at the start.
