Quest 3 Controllers - Sports / Active Strap Mod
This is my mod to reuse my 14mm wide velcro straps (from my quest 2), it'll fit anything up to that (10mm on aliexpress recommended if you don't have the ones from the aftermarket quest 2 kits)
Version A - Plate 1 - For velcro strap up to 14mm
Version B - Plate 2 - For Paracord (up to 5mm) or to use with the stock cords
Required Materials
- PETG filament (recommended due to it's flexibility)
- Hook Loop Velcro Strap - 10 to 14mm [Aliexpress]
Printing
- Use the recommended profile, the ideal layer height is 0.12mm (to avoid overhangs)
Preparation
- Remove supports and sand the parts if needed
Assembly
- Open the controller by pressing the button to eject the controller lid
- Slide the bottom part (the one where the cord is attached) out
- Insert the clip on the controller by sliding it
- Insert the printed controller cover
- Put the strap in place

Printed very nice and clean, tiny bit of cleanup and they clicked right in, now I need to get some Velcro as I didn't realise my hands are so big and all the Velcro I have is way too short :D

I used the provided print profile with a few changes. first I had to change the bed because I use the high temp plate, then I put a modifier on the small pieces to make them 100% infill.
it printed well and I am surprised that it works because I had to buy these for the last quest 2. thank you for the design and saving me some money! I still cannot figure out how to get pet G to print in a nice looking way but this is functional and feel strong enough
