Spool Storage Dry Box

This dry box mod is used to support turning a common 4L cereal storage container into a humidity controlled filament spool storage box with a hygrometer for monitoring.

This type of sealed box coupled with the large amount of silica desiccant supported by the insert ensures better long-term storage than vacuum bags, with minimal need to recharge/replace your desiccant.

Key features:
Supports almost any 4L cereal storage box, both those with and without grip indents
Features a silica desiccant compartment that holds 100g of desiccant, with air vents throughout
Provides support for various spool sizes including narrower 750g spools
Sliding lid provides a secure fitting to ensure the holder can be inserted into and removed from the container with no risk of desiccant spillage

Update 9th July 2024: Minor enhancement to the box lid has now been included with both print profiles to reduce the airhole size, to ensure the lid cannot leak small 2-3mm desiccant beads even when fully inverted.

Update 18th July 2024: Minor enhancement to the box has now been included with both print profiles, this change adds a stiffening bar running round the back of the box to add strength to the back and rear corners. No external or lid geometry has changed, so the v2 box is fully interchangeable with v1.

The main print profile is divided into 3 plates:
The first plate includes the box base, lid and a blank, unlabelled hygrometer faceplate - So if you want a single print without a labelled faceplate, this will do the job.

The second and third plate provides various labelled faceplates, printed separately with the labels you need requires only a single filament swap, alternatively the labelled faceplates can be moved onto the first plate as needed (though doing so will add an additional filament swap).

The A1 Mini profile is divided into 6 plates:
The first plate includes the box base.
The second plate includes the box lid and a a blank, unlabelled hygrometer faceplate
The third, fourth, fifth and sixth plates provide various labelled faceplates.
