Description

Based on ThaTony's excellent concept, this is the hybrid storage dry box you've been looking for!

Since getting into 3D printing I have been trying to find a solution to store my partially used rolls of filament. The option that got most of my attention was cereal dry boxes. There were a lot of pros: well sealed, lots of existing accessories I could print for it, easy to customize. My problem was storing them. I don't have the space to easily store and access that many cereal boxes. That lead me to ThaTony's box. Simple, easy to print. My main concern was how well does it keep the humidity at bay. I did tests over a month. A properly sealed cereal box with a desicsant pack vs the box with the same desicant pack. Sitting side by side, neither opened. The box was only 2% higher than the cereal box. Now I knew I had a solution, I just had to make a couple changes to fit my needs/wants:

  • Changed the front to accomadate my preffered swatches (link below)
  • Added the option to use magnets to keep the lid closed.

The magnets are completely option, but very convient. Takes 8 6x3mm magnets.

Thank you so much, and enjoy!
