Description

This toy is a representation of the Aizawa attractor, a well-known system in the study of dynamical systems and chaos theory. The Aizawa attractor is defined by a set of differential equations that produce complex, chaotic behavior.

2D Chaotic behavior for the Aizawa attractor ( Figure from: Ghanbari, Behzad & Gómez-Aguilar, J.F.. (2022). Two efficient numerical schemes for simulating dynamical systems and capturing chaotic behaviors with Mittag–Leffler memory. Engineering with Computers. 38. 1-29. 10.1007/s00366-020-01170-0.)

For this design, a specific set of parameters was used for the Aizawa simulation. During the 55,000 iterations, all the generated points were voxelized to form this stunning spring ball. The intricate spirals and loops mimic the chaotic paths traced by the Aizawa attractor, resulting in a beautiful and structured form.

Due to the significant number of overhangs in this model, I had to add substantial support in the current profile. However, this may still result in unevenness at the bottom. If you have any better solutions, please let me know.
