My hexagon/diamond link choker was my first try at making a flexible necklace with stiff interchangeable gems. The design end up being kind of big but I was happy with it. Since then I've come up with a smaller Spherical Style, Emerald Style, and now I have smaller hexagon/diamond ones! I also made matching earrings that are in the same style as the previous ones, but smaller, the same size as the necklace. The tabs on these are actually the same size because I found that shrinking them compromised their streght, so the tabs are the same but the hexagon/diamond part was shrank (shrunken?).
I have a photo there to compare the size of the original (rainbow gems) and the new style. I also did thse with either the point going up or the point going side to side.
Gems are designed to pop in from the front, but I think they can go in from the back as well.
When it comes to printing the gems, I like to print them top down if it is a single color and top up or top down on a smooth surface for multi colored filaments. I feel the textured finish ruins the multi colored look but looks great with single colors.
