I wanted a color matching screen for my printer and I couldn't find any screen with the correct color.

Because of these I bought a RGB screen with the faith it would be compatible with the LCD controller.

And yes, the RGB screen it's compatible with the controller, not needed custom firmware, only hardware modifications.

Disclamer

This mod requires desolder/solder the screen from the controller. If you don't have care you can break the controller.

BOM

• LCD RGB screen
• 20K ohm potentiometer trimmer
• Universal PCB

TOOLS

• Soldering Iron
• Desoldering pump
• Solder tin (recomended with 60%pb)
• Connectors/cabling,etc..

Instructions

Desolder the OEM LCD, you may need to add tin with high pb % to lower the fusion temperature. Use the pump to suck the old tin.

Remove the pin 16 from the controller/lcd

Solder 3 wires on pins 16 to 18 to control the backlight. Solder on the LCD, not the controller.

Solder 2 wires on pins 1 and 2 to retrieve power.

You need to assembly this circuit. The potentiometers they are used to adjust RGB lights.

Here it's my pcb.

I used dupont connector to aid in the installation. You can use hot glue to fix in place.

Use the knobs to make “tool free” the potentiometers.
