Updated version of my previous design, found here:
https://makerworld.com/en/models/488545
- This is a rod carrier/rack that can accommodate up to 6 spinning and/or baitcast rods.
- The handle is offset forward for better balance when loaded up.
- Can be used for transport, as a stand with the legs, or as a rack for vertical storage.
- The legs can be stored inside the rack for convenience.
Some of the improvements:
- v2 uses less material and weighs less, making transport more comfortable
- Larger diameter rod tubes (44mm)
- Handle is extended even farther forward than v1 for better balance when loaded with rods
- Redesigned attachment for the legs. They now slide in with dovetail joints so they don't fall out when you pick up the carrier.
- Shorter print time per plate than v1. This one can be split into multiple separate plates to avoid a single 23 hour long print.
Some of the drawbacks:
- Longer print time overall
- v2 requires more assembly. Instead of only needing to glue the handle, now all parts must be glued. I used ABS plumbing glue, but superglue should work just fine.
