Description

This is a Remix, the Original: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4538594

I want to apologize for my bad English in advance, I'm not good at writing so much and that's what mainly keeps me from releasing new stuff

if you need a video on how to assemble everything, the original creator has made a couple of videos about it!

i completely recreated the Sanlaki VR Gunstock in fusion 360 because there weren't any easy to modify files that i could find.

The main reason was because i wanted to use normal ½" pipes from the hardware store.
in the end i had so much fun recreating it that I also made a custom version for myself, both versions are included in the downloads, one Version is the original vr Gunstock that I recreated as close as possible with some minor tweaks to for better Pritability and to fit normal ½" pipes. (if you have the pipes he suggested you should print his files)

And the other version is my custom design
I also recreated the controller mounts, I used a 3d scan of the original quest 2 controllers, the 3d printed part is a perfect fit without any movement!

Everything is already Oriented correctly, There are no Supports needed EXCEPT for the “Front controller Rotation blocker”

(work in progress) ||DISCONTINUED||
currently working on an adjustable stock and shoulder rest, will add it after some more testing. no original part will be edited you can just print is as an addon in the future!

Update v1.1: 17.9.22
Added two more spacers to my design, one for the coupler and one for the controller mounts.
Made the controller mount spacers because i noticed it wore out and had a 0.8mm wiggle room.
As with the other spacers, resize them in your slicer till they fit just perfect.

Info to my Remixed Gunstock:

Pipes

  • You need 3 Pipes in total!
  • The Pipes i used are Metric in length (200mm and 120mm) and ½ inch in thickness if you have different ones that are slightly longer it may still work, you can edit everything with the included step files.
  • I also made some optional printable pipes for the stock because a metal pipe isn't needed there. I included two versions and sizes, i Recommend people that are taller than 1,80m to print the 250mm version. If you are worried about instability when printing this tall, you should print the one with included supports. Also check if your printer can print this high (that's how i found out my printer hight wasn't configured properly in the firmware)
I also recommend printing the pipe hotter for better layer adhesion (i used PLA and Printed it with 225c).

Muzzle

  • Added a hex shape for better grip, the muzzle is necessary when using one of the “Front controller Rotation blocker”, that's what holds it in place

Spacers

  • There are some spacers included, if you have a silicon protector for your controllers you may need them, you can resize the thickness in your slicer.
  • “Spacer for stock rotation” is there, so you don't overtighten the Optional 3D Printed Pipe. You need it if the stock is to loose or to tight when trying to get it straight. Print spacers in different thicknesses (change thickness in your slicer) until it sits perfect.

Couplers

  • There are two versions of the coupler, i Recommend to print the one without sling holes. When you screw everything together, only make it as tight as it has to be till the sides line up with the barrel piece.

“Front controller Rotation blocker”

  • Is the only part that needs supports on the bottom.
  • The part itself is not necessarily needed, but it feels better if the front controller can't rotate around the pipe.

Sling and Sling Mounts

  • I made my Sling completely DIY, wasn't really that hard, just some sewing. I used 25mm wide “PP Webbing Strap” or whatever it is called, had that lying around because i once ordered 50m of it for 13€
all 3D Printable Parts from the sling are also included.
  • To mount the sling, use some Velcro cable ties, they should be 12mm wide.
  • The mounting points are explained in a picture above, everything other that the Recommended places are causing tracking issues, you can of course still try it for yourself.

Buttstock

  • i Edited the original a bit so its a couple of mm further down
  • i didn't like how it was just sliding around on my shoulder so i made a optional shoulder rest that you can screw on the back of the buttstock

New Controller Mounts

  • I completely remade the Controller Mounts, they are much smoother now and fit perfectly on the quest 2 controllers. Yeah, they are a bit hard to remove, but you can just let them installed when playing other games, you won't even notice them!

I hope i didn't forget to mention anything, if you have any problems or questions write a comment here or contact me on Discord: StriK3FoRC3#9233

Parts list (DE Amazon):

(Depends on your Configuration, two pipes have to be metal and one can be 3D Printed.)

That's it, not much i know.
My Gunstock contains out of 1x 120mm metal pipe, 1x 200mm metal pipe, one 250mm 3D Printed pipe and two magnets, all the other stuff is 3D Printed!
The final cost of my Gunstock was just about 10€ Incliding print material.
i printed not just one, two of my friends also wanted one. Ask your friends too, so you can split the cost of the magnets :)

Donate if you want, need more Filament for other Projects/Prototypes ;)
