Description

Fully articulating Rayquaza, with color profile. This design is a combination of my own CAD work, and heavily modifying available video game models of Rayquaza. The model prints the best with the different colors but, you're free to print a monocolor version as well.

When assembling, use a gentle twisting motion, some joints are really tight, be careful not to snap the ball joints. For the arm joint, use a gentle rotating rocking motion rather than twisting.

so all thr body and arms turned out great but. when printing the head the bottom fins spaghetti'd or became fragile. not sure if it's my settings or something else. I was printing 3 heads on one plate.

I’m really sad to hear that. the connection point for the bottom head fins to the build plate is very small. I the biggest issues I had when printing my own was adhesion. I’m not sure if that’s your problem here, but I had a few failed prints just because of things coming loose.

i have to reprint 2 of the claws due to them not sticking when it got to the top white claw part. but the bottom fins im kinda suprised on this is my 2nd print using auto tree's. just wondering why it printed the way it did that on those lower fins. i may queue up just one head at a time and see if that makes a difference rather than multiple.

did you take a time lapse video? I’d be interested to know when it failed, I’d imagine if you had issues with the claws, then it is an adhesion issue. I use the gold pei plate and cleaned/wiped with alcohol to make sure I had the best adhesion possible. You can also orient the heads different, I just found this orientation printed the prettiest.

Only halfway through printing, but I already know this model is great! The ball joints fit perfectly!

Glad to hear, did you have to do a twisting motion like I suggested? Or did you just push as hard as you could?

I twisted like you suggested since I was worried about breaks, but there was no problem at all

Glad to hear. The tolerances are so low for those fits that I was worried it might have problems on other printers.

Thanks! Took me about a month design and print. Been awhile since I’ve uploaded a model.

Anyone know how to print the head with 6 colors but only 1 AMS lite?

I would just recolor the tongue to red, and the two little fangs to red. I imagine that would still look pretty good.

Is there a way we can buy the license to sell this?

Here's the main problem, Pokemon is not my Intellectual Property, so I can't give permission for commercial use even if I wanted to. I made this for hobbyists, not for profit.

It's pretty cool i will definitely print it, just a question, if i want to print 1 rayquaza how much parts do i need to print from each plate?

I added notes to each part in the STL file that tells you how much, but I'm finding it hard to see those notes on makerword(I'd don't upload a ton of models here). If you're using the print profile, just print plates 1-3, and delete the extra heads and arms on plates 2 and 3.
