Description

Remix of B-Lab 3D's simplified spool winder.

 

His goal was to make an all printed spooler that didn't use a ton of filament. The design is fantastic! Easier and faster than the other solutions out there, this spooler has been a game changer.

 

I made a couple changes to optimize it for winding Bambu Lab spools:

  • Increased the width of the spacers as the original was too slim to hold Bambu spools correctly.
  • Changed the thread of the bolt and nut to make it much easier to use.

I have uploaded three profiles:

  • All parts on one plate for X1C/P1S/P1P/A1.
  • Parts split between two plates for A1 Mini.
  • Slimmer spacers, ideal for many other brands of spools.

can u still use drill with this or only the crank handle

Works great with a drill. I use an electric screw driver, harder to keep the drill at a reasonable speed.

thanks just need something simple. new to 3d own my x1 for about a month and venturing out got some overture silk pla coming on cardboard.

what material is best for this ?

I have only printed it in BL Basic PLA and haven’t had any issues with strength or printing. PETG should also be a great fit for it.

Tolerances are pretty tight on the screw, but as it gets worn in, it's better. Broke the first one trying to tighten it...

pretty cool little respool design. nothing fancy. just gets the job done. I am glad i got a chance to print it. I used it a few times already and actually gave it to a friend of mine. I can always print another one. hahaha
