Since the philips hue floor lamp is kinda expensive i created my own version for a simple but smart floor lamp. For complete assembly you dont have to be a programming genius neither a NASA engineer.
Things you need for complete assembly:
- The 3D-printed parts
- some Arduino like Controller (ESP32/ESP8266)
- An LED Lightstrip (i used 1m of WS2812b)
- A Double LED Channel / Aluminium Profile (dimensions are in the picture)
- A Power Supply fitting your LED stripe (For me its a 5V DC)
- AC Power Cord with length to your liking
- 4x M3 screws
- 1x Cable tie
For the Software:
If you're not familiar, just search for “wled installer” it should be pretty self explanatory and is well documented.
Notes:
- You can wether solder the electronic connections directly or use some kind of wago clips to have a non permanent connection.
- Since you are using a double LED aluminium profile u can choose to use 2 or 3 rows of your LED strip. I started using a single LED strip with 144 LEDs per meter and in retrospect is shopuldve used 2 rows to achieve a better overall brightness.
- check if your DC power supply is fine with the amount of LEDs you've got: wled-calculator
- WLED has a phillips hue integration that works pretty well. You just need to have one hue light (and bridge) active, which your own wled stipes can sync to.
- a 5V LED Strip can supply voltage for the Microcontroller, which was the main reason not to go for a 12V light Strip
