Description

X1C Sleek Riser

Neat and simple riser for the Bambu Lab X1C printer.

Highlights

  • High visibility from top (AMS at arround 8cm high)
  • Glass can be removed without removing AMS (for maintenance)
  • Secondary opened position for the glass.
  • Leave access to top printer buttons.
  • Stable AMS, easy to remove if needed.
  • Can still open AMS (should NOT protrude at back).
  • Beautiful : simple sleek & neat design, that perfectly follow printer & AMS lines (doesn't protrude printer lateral bounding box).
  • Lightweight, easy to print, min support.
  • Designed for multi-color printing, with minimal waste.
  • Easy assembly with only 4 parts (+2 for aestetics).
  • Can attach official metal spool holder on left side.
  • NO special support for additional LED stripe : I personnaly use Panda Lux LEDs, that doesn't required any extra setup.

Printing

Only 4 parts on 2 plates are required.

Support is required but only for the first 3mm.

Two additionnal parts can be printed for aestetics (Bambu Lab dual color logo).
Logo are printed separatly to avoid excessive color-change waste.

3MF file or STEP files are available.

Inspiration

I originaly just wanted to print an existing riser, they are many.
But none matched all my criteria, so I decided to design my own.

I spent hour on this design, inspired by several existing risers, like :

  • X3D AMS Riser Lite 75mm high @DutchWorkX3D
  • lightweight AMS Riser with LED etc. @duck.knapp

Notes

The spool holder currently works, but it's a bit loose so spool ins't very horizontal. It might need a bit of improvement, but as I didn't want any screw in my design, it's not easy.

I've been wanting a riser for a while but didn't want to drop a ton of time and material into one. But I saw this and said I'd give it a go. I like it. It's a simple riser but and now I have the ability to open my lid easily and it wasn't much material and/or time once I did it correctly. I screwed up a few times. Mainly, his needs supports to print so well. Also, I could not get this to print on only 2 plates. I see a total of 3 plates in total realistically. I used Bambu Grey PLA

Glad you like my model 😊 Can you tell me why you couldn't print the main part in two plates? I've uploaded the profile but I just say that it may have been refused by MakerWorld for a reason. I'll look into it.

Printed with Bambu PETG Basic Blue Gray (30601) and came out pretty good given how finicky this PETG has been for me. Some imperfections with the overhangs and support sections around the base, but the exterior is nearly flawless.
