Description

Simple A1mini Cable Chain for Heatbed. (A1mini ready, ≈ 40g)

Only 16 chain links and 15 lids are required, but I added 18 of both as they do not require much filament. Sometimes, little adhesion problems will ruin the look and functionality of a chain link or lid.

Removing  supports of the bed anchor can be quite tricky and will require some form of tweezers!

Installation:

  1. First install the base and bed anchor, which should fit perfectly (don't worry too much about the cables, as they will fit into place “automatically”).
  2. Attach 16 links to each other and both anchors. (The open side should face “inside”. See my pictures). The links could also be attached one by one with alternating “openings”, I just did not like the look of it. Try it out and decide for yourself.
  3. Push the bed back as far as possible for easy installation of the lids. Because of their size they are quite fragile so be careful while installing or disassembly.

If you encounter any problems or got ideas for improvement just massage me in the DMs.

Easy print. Easy installation. Improves the looks tremendously and covers the moving cable.

I found the connector bit to the bed was too tight (Likely a filament issue and not the model) Looks nice and is pretty functional, but it does "tap" on my desk and make an annoying sound sometimes.

Thank you for your feedback 👍 I will redo the bed connector in V2. To reduce the sound maybe try adding one more link to the chain.

Other Issues:The end and start of the chain is too tight. Cable at the start is at stress. End of the chain don't fit. But it can be used be my for only chain.

The fit is quite tight but should fit without any major problems. Did you change any printing parameters?

Nope. It's from handy app to my printer.

I used 15 links instead of 16, and it's a much cleaner look. 16 wasn't curved enough.

Your setup really does have a cleaner look, but I cant remove any more links as my cable is way to stressed or multiple lids are falling appart 😳

Printed excellent on my X1C (had one link turn to spaghetti so good call adding a couple extra). Fitment was amazing on every part. A very nice, well thought out design! Side note - a curved automotive pick tool works excellent for getting the last bit of support material out of the piece that slides over the bed connector.
