Description

Designed to seamlessly integrate into your workshop, the clamp has a 35mm hole to suit a standard shop vacuum hose end. If you choose not to use the clamp, then I would recommend printing the ‘A Start Link for without clamp ’ as this has a 35mm ID so that you can insert a shop vac hose end directly into it.

The Pillar Drill clamp is designed for a 60mm and 72mm cylinder, this should suit most benchtop pillar drills. Thank you to Ralf Horhager for inspiration for this attachment. There are also Remix's of this design with a G-Clamp design.

Parts for Assembly

I would recommend printing with 8 Mid Link, plus a Start Link and End Link, to give maximum flexibility in the design. After printing, I would recommend lightly sanding the parts to remove any lumpy bits before assembly. Also a little PTFE lubricant can help.

  • Nozzle: 0.4mm
  • Layer Height: 0.20mm
  • Infill: 25%
  • Orientation: Orientation is important, see images
  • Supports: Only required for Clamp A as pictured
  • Brim: Brim is recommended for Funnel Attachment, everything else is fine without

Funnel Attachments

There are four funnel attachment options for various purposes (see images). These should all be printed with the hose end to the bed. A 5mm brim is a good idea and the ‘Encapsulated Funnel Attachment’ will need support.

Note:

Some printers may print links looser than others. For this reason I would recommend doing a test print first, if you find the connection too loose, please print the tighter A and B Links. The tighter element only affects the female side of the connection, so C Link (a male connection) is common to all versions.

This was printed with Hatchbox Blue Grey PETG. I would recommend printing this print PETG rather than PLA for increased durability.

I hope you find this model useful. If so we would love it, if you can give us a LIKE.
