I really like the look of this carrot balisong because it wasn't just a knife, but rather more a fidget toy. The only thing not so great about it for me though is the use of external harware. This is why i remixed the design to use 3d printed pins instead of bolts. This meant i had to widen the hole, create a slot for the pins, design the pins, and test multiple times. I ended up making 3 prototypes of different pin designs and tolerances until I came out with this one.
The assembly is very straitforward as the pins can only go in one way. you insert the pins into the handle with the carrot in plance. it is mostly a friction fit, but once you reach the other side of the hande, you will have to twist the bolt wiht a flathead screwdriver to tap the holes and keep the pin in place. I have not had any issues with tolerances, but if you do, then you may need to scale up the pins in the slicer along the x and y axis DO NOT SCALE THE Z AXIS.
