Description

Many of you have asked for a bayonet, twist-lock version of this fume extraction system - and so at long last I now proudly bring you..

V3!

No more magnets.

Magnets are cool, but let's be honest.. they're a pain in the ass. Sometimes they fall out, sometimes you glue them in wrong, and sometimes they're just too bloody expensive. Worst of all the magnetic system was prone to bumps, and could easily become disconnected.

Can be printed 100% without the need for any support material.
The steepest overhang is 45° so your printer shouldn't have any issue at all printing these parts with supports disabled in your slicer.

2 different cover options for FREE

The triangle uses the least amount of filament. The Hexagon is the most ergonomic and has the best hand feel, and finally.. DA ORK is DA COOLEST!! - and you can get DA ORK as well as a bunch of other cool exclusive STL files by joining our wonderful community on BMC, or Patreon. I really appreciate the support, and it helps me bring you projects just like this!

Adjust the tolerance parameter in the included F360 file to get the PERFECT fit with your printer.

The default value is 0.2mm and that goes for the included STL files here. Adjusting the tolerance effects only the Source Coupling component, so you only need to reprint that if your fit is too tight or too loose.

Backwards compatible* - PLEASE READ IF UPGRADING AN EXISTING MAGNETIC SYSTEM!!
For backwards compatibility for any holes you've already drilled, please change the bolt_count parameter to 4, and the bolt_offset parameter to 52.494mm if coming from V1, or 53.25mm if coming from V2. To figure out which version you're upgrading from, V1 was posted to Printables, and V2 (which was the parametric update) was posted here to Makerworld. Here are the links to V1 and V2 files

Version 1: https://www.printables.com/model/274787
Version 2: https://makerworld.com/en/models/199062 (almost identical to V1, but updated to be parametric)

Thank you!

If you level up your 3D printing setup with this system please consider saying thank you with a coffee or a sub. The support really helps!
And if you join at the STL tier or higher I have loads of great STL's for you as well, including DA ORK!! So it's insanely good value 😁

This is great. Thank you! With to the fusion file I was able to customize for a 100mm hose and a smaller handle no problem. 1 print away from setting this up.

I'm still new to 3d modeling and printing, how do you  change the bolt_count parameter to 4, and the bolt_offset parameter to 52.494mm if coming from V1?

Hey David! All you gotta do is download and install Fusion 360, and I cover updating parameters in this video here https://youtu.be/zjcaNzyLh_U?si=AI0GLiYYNuYGEAwE You will need to sign up for a free hobby account with Autodesk if you haven't already. Hope this helps!
