Description

This personalized name/title plate for your desk also holds pens/pencils and business cards.

Requirements: an AMS and Bambu Studio on your computer. At this time, the mobile app won't allow the necessary customization.

Also, make sure your build plate is clean before printing. The model prints face-down, so if you have a textured or patterned build plate, that will transfer to this model… but so will any fingerprints or oil on the plate (guess how I know).

How To (Quick)

  1. Open the profile in Bambu Studio
  2. Rotate the view so you can see the text on the bottom
  3. Pick your filament colors (#1 is the base, #2 is the text and border)
  4. Switch to the Objects tab
  5. Select “NAME (Edit This)”
    1. Click the Text tool in the top toolbar
    2. Edit the text, size, and font to your preference
  6. Repeat for “TITLE (Edit This)”
  7. Slice
    1. Make sure the 1st layer looks correct before printing
  8. Print

How To (Detailed)

  1. Open the profile in Bambu Studio

  2. Rotate the view so you can see the text on the bottom

  3. Pick your filament colors

    #1 is the base color
#2 is the text and border
(note that the border will show your color, but the text will look yellow until you slice)

  4. Switch to the Objects tab

  5. Select “NAME (Edit This)”

    1. Click the Text tool in the top toolbar (you can't right-click to edit this type of text)

    2. Edit the text, size, and font to your preference

    3. After making changes, the text may not be centered anymore, so click and slowly drag the pink dot to move the text

  6. Repeat for “TITLE (Edit This)”

  7. Slice
    1. Double check that the first layer looks correct.
This issue should be resolved now, but it's possible the slicer might put only text in the first layer, creating an unprintable hovering model.

  8. Print
(The first color is the base color, and the second one is the text and border)

Dimensions

The model is 200mm wide x 61mm deep x 50mm tall.

It has 12 and 16mm diameter holes for pen/pencil.

The business cards slot is 100mm x 20mm, which should support most standard business cards (for example, US standard is 3.5" x 2", which is ~89mm wide).

Credit / Remix / Usage

Credit to Matt Thibbs for the original name plate design and idea, and a big thank you for allowing me to tinker with that design.

Feel free to further remix mine or let me know if there's a tweak that I could make.

Do not sell copies/prints of this, but make all you want and give it to friends, family, and coworkers.

The designer takes no responsibility if you print an offensive joke title and it gets you fired.
