Hi! Please take a moment to read the ‘important updates’ section before you print anything, to ensure you get exactly what you need from the model. Thanks!
I've printed a couple of neat plate holders from MakerWorld but none quite met my needs-- mostly because they don't fit the plate without a ton of wiggle room. With that single issue in mind, I… well to be honest I went kinda overboard. This thing is sorta overengineered because I have no filter. Snug-but-not-tight plate storage for X, P, and A (and mini!) series printers, your way. With files included for four, six, and eight slot versions you build what you want. With the plate rails modeled as stopped dovetails, print them separately in whatever colors you want and slide them securely into a base that's whatever color and material you want. Then print the front Bambu badge pieces in colors of your choosing and attach them with a dot of hot glue or CA glue. Want to be a goth? Dope. Pastels? Neat. Want to make the whole thing in the colorway of your favorite sports team? Go on girl, do your thing. Make something awesome, show it off. Thanks for checking it out and have a great day!
IMPORTANT UPDATES!
Thanks to a shoutout from @Skorpeyon, I was made aware that the default rails are too tight a fit for plates that have stickers on both sides (they fit perfectly for other plates, including Juupine and the high temp and standard PEI plates). Should you find any of your rails are slightly tight for a certain plate to fit, I've included an additional model file for a rail with a gap that is 60% wider. I apologise for any inconvenience caused, none of the plates I had on hand while designing were of a problematic thickness. I appreciate your understanding!
EDIT! I've also included an additional-additional model for an even wider rail, per a request I received to create an option to support 2mm plates like the Lightyear G10 garolite. If you have any 2mm-ish plates you need to store, please print this model for those slots. Thank you!
I also slightly adjusted the model in the following way-- the bevel on the bottom front surface has been made slightly less aggressive to avoid any print issues when printing the front surface face down on the plate, per feedback. Thank you!
ASSEMBLY NOTES!
Not a lot to this one. Provided your printer is maintained and calibrated, things should go smoothly. If you're going to move the models around on different plates to print in a load of colors, or if you just want to reorganise the print, PLEASE print them in the orientation indicated in the Bambu Studio screenshot in the photos. It will lead you to a successful print. Other orientations went… not quite as well. You can add a dot of glue when inserting the rails, but the tolerances are tight enough you don't need to (I didn't, for mine. I only used a touch of glue when adding the Bambu badges to the front of the holder). I did print mine with adaptive layers at the very top and the very bottom of the oriented base, just to get the best, cleanest curves that I could.
