Description

Have you ever had your Bambu Lab spool come apart and it was impossible to reassembly because the filament has shifted? I was in this situation and I came up with a spool that saved the filament from the trash and it’s even AMS compatible!

The spool is designed to clamp the filament and hold it in place, so printing can be continued from the new spool. The spool may seem a little tight to screw together, but it is to ensure that the two halves do not come apart easily.

It can also function as a regular spool for Bambu Lab filament refills.

The assembly process:

  1. First of all, make sure that the Emergency spool is within reach and separated.
  2. Place the Bambu spool with the small “indicator plate” (for filament type and amount left), face down.
  3. Carefully remove the top part of the Bambu spool and insert the one half of the Emergency spool with outer threads. Make sure to align the small tap in the bottom.
  4. Secure the end of the filament in the holes of the Emergency spool and flip the spool. The “indicator plate” will now face upwards.
  5. Carefully remove the other half of the Bambu spool and fit the remaining part of the Emergency spool by screwing it in.
  6. Make sure that it is tight and start printing!
