Description

How much filament remains on your spool ? 200 or 400 g ?

Simply use this perfectly calibrated meter to know the exact number of remaining filament. Optimized for Bambu Lab PLA spools (*).

Available in high res with fine numbers for your nozzle 0.2 mm, or with larger numbers for your nozzle 0.4 mm (0.12 mm layers are suggested in both scenarios, no support required).

(*) ABS and ASA densities show a 12% difference; PETG, PC and TPU are similar to PLA.

(*) See Spool Meter V2.0 with Dual Scale for different filament densities

This tool should be in everyone's tool kit. simple solution to estimate remaining filament. I scaled the depth down so that it fits nicely in the narrow drawer in my toolbox. I can't speak to exactly how precise it is, but it's definitely close enough to get a general idea of remaining volume left on the spool without removing it from the AMS.

Thank you for the pictures and nice comments - as for the precision, I took (and corrected) the measurements to keep it within 0.25 mm tolerance; temperature, humidity and variance in the filament rolling can induce minor errors but you can definitely be confident within 25-50 g. Have a nice day !

Accurate & Fast print 0.4mm nozzle
nice design.. mines messed up but that was due to textured plate. Will reprint and update

Which print profile did you use ? ... did you use the Hotend with 0.2 mm nozzle size ?

Very useful little tool. Simple to print and gives a great guide. I now use it all the time.

I was able to improve the speed (2h => 1h) and filament usage (46g => 31g) of your print model, and allow full gram amounts to be printed with 0.4mm nozzle. I added a print profile so you can take a look. What I did was: 1. Printed face down, reducing the purge tower to a minimum (significantly reducing filament used) 2. First layer is printed slowed down - for accurate results on the print face 3. First layers with reduced print width - for increased accuracy (allows full numbers on 0.4mm nozzle) 4. First couple of layers are 100% infill, so you it doesn't look transparent, and you don't see the infill pattern inside 5. First layers with 0.08mm layer height, for increased accuracy. All subsequent layers are with 0.28mmm layer height for increased speed

Wow, thank you for the detailed explanations ! I looked at the picture of your print and it looks perfect, even with the scale facing down. Thank you also for sharing your optimized print profile !

Great idea, especially for measuring in the AMS, it's really very useful. (3 walls, gyroid infill 5%, 0,4 nozzle, 0,2mm layer)
