Description

Fly box with sliding lid. Three versions available with different internal divider configurations.

Low profile box is 15.5 cm x 8 cm x 2.5 cm tall and will fit in wide vest pockets.
No hinges to break or rust. Sliding lid clicks into place and will not accidentally pop open in tackle boxes or backpacks.

Fly decoration on the lid indicates the orientation of the box. To open, gently press the middle with your thumbs and slide the lid upwards.

The lid is perforated for ventilation but sturdy.

Built in, stable dividers that will not lift out of position or slide around, wide enough for dry flies as well as streamers.

Printing Instructions

  • Prints without supports and fits on a single A1 mini plate.
  • Please make sure the parts are fully cooled before lifting them from the plate.
  • After printing the lid might fit a bit tight depending on printer and filament performance. You can sandpaper the rails on the lid slightly to improve the fit.
  • Alternatively slide the lid on and off the box a few times to create a good fit between the two parts. This might take some force and it's normal for small strings of plastic to separate from the lid and the box.

General 3d Printing Tips

  • Make sure your printing plate is clean! Oils from your skin will cause adhesion issues for your prints. Regularly wash your print plate with a detergent like Dawn and avoid touching the surface when removing prints from the bed.
  • If it's an option on your printer, always opt to level the bed before each print. If you have to perform this manually, make sure you do this after every few prints. It takes a bit of time and patience, but it's a fair trade for reliable prints.
  • Ensure bed and nozzle temperatures are within the expected range for the material you are printing. Temperatures that are too high or too low will affect the print negatively by causing warping, malformed layers or adhesion issues.
  • Reduce your printing speed. Slower print speed is especially important for overhangs because it gives the material more time to cool as it's deposited.

Beautifu box! I'm going to be printing several of each variety for when I done want my watertight boxes. only issues is that the track was way too tight. required 45 seconds of sanding. great model, just required very moderate post processing.

Thank you! Very glad you like it. I agree it's a bit tight at first, but I was reluctant to shrink the track because I found that it loosens up considerably after sliding the lid a few times. I was afraid it might end up being too lose to stay closed, or just print too lose for some printer/filament configs. You sanded the track on the inside of the lid, correct? Asking because it sounds like I should suggest light sanding might be required in the instructions.

The lid is a little tight, but a couple passes with sandpaper fixed that issue. T hanks!
