Summary
Inspired by 8ran's Articulated Butterfly I decided to try my hand at this Articulated Monarch. I used 8ran's inner workings (slightly modified for the monarch shape), and created a raised pattern, which you can color black or print in black if you want.
4/12/2018: Per notoriousbdg's comment, I've added a "3 layer" file in order to print this in three colors. The bottom layer is 8mm, the middle layer which will show the dots around the edges of the wings is 0.5mm, and the top layer is 0.5mm. All of these measurements are at 100% scale of the design. I have not printed this version yet.
