The Design and Printing
A Double Helix with suspended filament drawn between two upwards strands inspired by DNA.
This piece's dimensions are approximately 60mm x 60mm x 115mm
This part is delicate. Ensure that Arachne Wall generator is being used and layer height is set to 0.2mm.
Your filament should be in good condition and well calibrated
Let the print cool before attempting to remove. And take extra care when removing.
I don't recommend using silk, personally i found Silk PLA did not work on the strands or suspended filament but it's possible that is because of my filament settings.
NOTE: I've tested the height and thinness of the upwards strands. They should work - the print may start to flex towards the top, normally this doesn't affect the final look.
Let me know how you get on.
If you enjoy this print consider giving it a boost (It'd really help me out!)
My Work
After many years in Engineering, I've just decided to try and follow my childhood dream of becoming of a Creative Designer.
A Creative Designer of what? No idea! Right now I really like puzzles, mechanisms and kinetic sculptures so that's where I'm going to focus my efforts.
