Description

I made this for kids to learn the analog clock. On smartwatches you mostly find digital clocks. ;-)

The minute hand always highlights the minute numbers and the hour hand highligths both the 12h and 24h numbers. So you see that they belong together. Even if you fill the clock with the blocks, the numbers are still readable.

The blocks click in place in 5 minute steps. They can be stacked, too.

For the assembly of the plug and the minute hand you need a little bit of power. Put the plug in and lay the clock on the table. Then you can push the minute hand from the top and at the end the hour hand. Here is how the snap-fits of the hands are fitted together:

There is a version with two AMS that show intuitive the 12h-, 24h- and 5-minute-steps. But in the print profile you find one for one AMS, too.

You could also print the version without an AMS but then you need the higher minute hand, because the numbers are not embedded anymore. If you have two AMS plus support material do not forget to activate it for the support interface of the mini-support of the center hole. That helps.

The hands and the plug are printed object after object, so no AMS activated there. Feel free to separate them. On the second build plate you find a higher minute hand if you do not use embedded text on the clock body.

I uploaded an English and a German print profile for the blocks.

For the whole thing I am working with texts as separate objects. So you can easily change the color of the texts.

Or delete them. For example on the blocks to avoid multi-color prints.

What I did not try, but could also work: Change the type of the text-part on the blocks to a “Negative part”:

My great inspiration was this make:
