Description

If you like this model and it's not too much trouble, please hit the 👍 button - it helps out a lot 😀

This is a quick remix of Bambu Lab's Lithophane frame. The only changes made were:

  1. Remove the ‘Bambu Lab’ logo from the top of the frame
  2. Added locks for the diffuser plate so it doesn't slip out

The 3mf file is for PLA. Supports are already enabled and the model has been rotated to face the camera. I used the High Temp plate. Be sure to change the plate type for whatever plate you end up using!

When I saw all the supports, I thought "I wouldn't have bothered supporting that bridge, but maybe they know something I don't", and started the print as-is before going to bed. Woke up this morning to a spaghetti detection pause, but the actual part was still well adhered to the bed and only had about 20% remaining, so I let it continue. There were some surface artifacts from the fail, and removing the supports SUCKED, but the frame works and looks fine. Next time, no support.
Support Issue

Now I just need to figure out what caused this print to underextrude on supports, but correctly everywhere else. It almost looks like it used a different flow multiplier on the tree supports, very weird.

Replying to @StatusD112 :
Your profile, Bambu PETG straight out of the bag, using their filament profile. I'd think it was a nozzle clog or extruder issue if the defects weren't *only* in the support material, but you can see even near the base there are issues in the support but nowhere else. I haven't seen anything like it in a decade of printing. I don't blame your profile for this, it's clearly something very weird going on. I may try reprinting with supports turned off since I don't think the model needs it.

Printed great in Hatchbox PLA Wood. Hinge released on build plate. Bambu Support for PLA worked but did leave some residue.

Changed a few print settings but definitely kudos to a great remix! The little tabs hold both the light guide plate and the LED board, no issues with size.

(reposting my comment to a rating) Nice remix. For me, the standard diffuser plate was just slightly too long for the locks to engage. Perhaps the tabs could be shortened by a couple of mm? When I reprinted the diffuser with 148mm length instead of 150mm, it worked great. I also made the original diffuser work but cutting a couple of shallow notches to shorten it right above the locking tabs.
