本游戏棋可供二人对弈，分两色各八只棋子，各棋子按图纸分配。
玩法：一方先走，每只每次只走一格，左右前后均可，唯狮、虎、鼠三种动物各有独特走法，走法如下：狮、虎过小河可纵横对直跳过，并可在跳到的位置内把敌方较小的动物吃掉，但若鼠在河内把路线阻塞时，便不能跳过。鼠过小河可入水中，陆上之动物都不能吃它，而鼠也不能吃陆上之动物。当两鼠在水中相遇则可互相吃去，与陆上相同，本棋吃法依动物之力量排列：象、狮、虎、豹、狼、狗、猫、鼠，但鼠又能吃掉象。另有特殊吃法如下：凡同类相遇则有主动权者可吃掉对方。如走入敌方陷阱则失去战斗力，对方之动物如在陷阱旁无论大小都能把落陷阱者吃掉。先走入对方兽穴方则获胜！祝玩的开心～
