Description

I tried to play the original battleships game with my young son, however he was horrified that someone was trying to sink his ships and simply refused to play. I created this new game to be more suitable for younger children (food theme, smaller board, silly rules). I created a custom set of rules for my game, however do whatever you want to make it your own.

Printing Instructions:

This requires an AMS for best results. The print profile comprises multiple plates. I recommend adding/removing spools in the AMS for each plate to get the best looking food pieces. You should evaluate and change colors for each plate. Changing AMS spools per plate is faster than repainting the different food pieces, unless you have multiple AMSs combined.

Assembly Instructions:

The board has space for optional cylindrical magnets with diameter of 5mm and depth of 2mm that can be glued in place.

A wedge is included on the case-plate that can be placed in the recess in the back of the board to hold the top board up.

Food Fight Rules:

Layout: Prior to starting players lay out their food pieces on the board.

  • toddlers are fussy eaters, this means that no two food items may touch each other.
  • the youngest player starts first.

Gameplay:

  • The player's whose turn it is (turn taker) calls out a coordinate (letter and number).
  • The other player checks the bottom board and states whether it was a miss or a bite.
    • If its a miss, the other player calls out the word ‘miss’. The turn taker marks the top board with a white peg.
    • if its a bite the other player calls out a food noise (yum, nom nom, munch etc..) and marks his bottom board with a colored peg. The turn taker marks their top board with a colored peg. If the food token has had all its holes filled, the other player must let the turn taker know that they ate your (donut/hotdog/sushi etc…)
  • The other player becomes the turn taker.
  • Once all the food items are eaten, the winner must make a humorous sound to proclaim their victory, or rub their belly at the very least.

Special Chili Pepper Rule:

The chili pepper is an optional piece, with special rules. As peppers turn up in unexpected places it can be placed adjacent to a piece of food. If a player bites a chili pepper, they lose a turn and are forced to make silly burning tongue sounds! You do not need to eat the chili to win the match, victory is determined by whichever player eats all the other player (non chili) food tokens.

Small parts are a choking hazard, not suitable for children 3 and under.

How fun! Do you have photos of how the tops of the cases came out?

The dark text came out better as the lighter one slightly shows the pin holes
