Description

Some family friends are big players of the Dominion Deck Building card game, and I was asked to make a custom game board for them, so this is what I came up with. There are some similar designs available on Etsy, but this is easily 3D printable, and the card slot placement I think is better for those who know the game, as it supports both the main game as well as several of the expansions for the game.

Once complete, it measures about 610mm in Diameter. I printed it with Overture Rock PLA, which i thought fitting considering the rocky texture on the top surface. I used the 0.16 layer height high quality setting. You won't want to go any bigger for layer height than that, or else the rocky surface will suffer.

This model requires approximately 1.5Kg of filament, assuming you don't mess up any of the prints. The pieces can all just be glued together, one at a time, with superglue. Do this part carefully, on a very flat surface, as the models don't have any connecting pieces or anything like that, so it's up to you to make sure everything is aligned properly.

I used acrylic paint pens to paint in the crevasses, and used a bit of Ebony Rub n Buff to give a bit more texture to the surface.

I used some self-adhesive velvet sheets, cut to shape with a Vinyl cutter, for the card slots.

When i first tried printing it, I had split up the model into larger pieces, but I was having some not insignificant warping issues (on my older, open air printer). I made each piece smaller, added a brim, and got myself an enclosed P1S, and didn't have any more warping issues.

On the small rectangle piece you can add a name, like I did on my print, if you have the skills to do so.

I'm making a separate Lazy Susan to put underneath the board so that it can spin to face any direction.
