Description

If you've got a newer Square Card Reader with tap-to-pay and the card insert slot, this print is for you! This Square Card Reader case has a raised tab with a hole to connect a lanyard or anything with a clip. I've used both versions shown on a lanyard at recent pop-up events. I hope this will help at your events, provide an item 3D printing businesses can sell to support to other vendors, and even support garage sale or yard sale hosts.

The case protects your card reader, keeps it handy, and stops it from "walking away." It also prevents accidental charges on your personal card by avoiding storing it between charges in the same place as your wallet (voice of experience right here!).

Making the Most of Your Make

  • I've included Print Profiles based on PLA and one I've optimized for TPU. Both of these have custom support paints to only use a little bit of support where needed.
  • The prints shown in the photos are in glow-in-the-dark PLA and rainbow TPU. I'm sure it'd be great in other filament types. However, I designed and tested it as a fairly snug fit. You may need to adjust the size to fit since other filaments may have different amounts of shrinkage than the two PLA's and one TPU I've printed in so far.
  • This prints vertically with limited build plate surface contact. Make sure you've got a clean and level bed and choose filament with known good bed adhesion. If you don't print from Bambu Handy or open the Print Profile in Bambu Studio, make sure you have supports turned on for the build plate only. This prints best vertically on the bottom edge with minimal supports under the bottom corners for cleaner edges on those overhangs. It should stick and print without supports with a well-tuned machine and filament. It just won't look as nice.
  • NO PRESALE OR USE ATTRIBUTION REQUIRED! There's no Creative Commons option that maintains ownership rights and also waives attribution, so I chose the closest option. Just tell people where you got it if asked. Please acknowledge the source and keep the same terms if you remix. Thanks!

If this design helps you at your next event or brings you additional sales from other businesses, please rate and boost when you can.

it printed really good. but it’s to big for my square reader. it just falls straight out of it. might try again and shrink the size a little. overall it’s a good print though

I'm sorry to hear that! Your filament may have less shrinkage than the ones I've printed them in so far. There's so much variation. Scaling the loose side(s) a percent or two should result in a snug fit. The ones I printed in TPU are little less tight fitting, but with the flex I'm able to just pinch the sides if I don't want to take it our for someone to use the chip insert slot.
