As an Industrial Electrician working at a local container pier, I have plenty of time up close and personal with STS and RTG cranes as I've been fixing and maintaining them for the last 8 years.
This is my first 3d model; an RTG (Rubber Tire Gantry) Crane.
I recommend printing all “painted” parts across 2 plates, another plate for the “metallic” parts, a plate for the “translucent glass” parts and finally a plate for the rubber tire (tpu) parts.
Some parts require supports, others don't, I've successfully printed this crane multiple times now and it goes together fairly well with a little bit of compression fit in combination with some CA glue.
As I've done, you can go the extra step of wiring up either a reed switch or micro switch in a container, wire some small gauge wire to some LED's and put some magnets on the spreader to turn this model into a fully functional lamp!
