Description

My intention here is to use some old pallet wood I have to make a platform, then using the coutnersunk screw holes, attach the house base to the wooden platform, and to ensure the roof doesn't get knocked/blown off, I've added in a basic key style mechanism to keep it in place. My first plan for the roof was magnets, but I couldn't find a suitable location for them, so figured a lock will do - time will tell!

I printed the roof on my AnkerMake M5 so that I could get the project done faster, as the main house is roughly a 32 hour print, which was completed on my Bambulabs X1C.

The house doesn't need to take this long, but I coloured the windows, and rocky parts of the house, resulting in over 1,000 filament changes. I've uploaded both the standard STL with no colouring, and my hand coloured 3MF - it may not be perfect, there are a lot of triangles in the window arches etc, so some may have been missed, but it took a long time to even get to this point!

I'll be honest, I made all the changes in Tinkercad instead of Fusion because whilst I love Fusion for creating models, I'm not great and trying to tweak anything someone else made in Fusion, so it's a bit poor, but I think it should hold up. Any reference to countersunk screw holes is meant very loosely because of this! It's just a cone hole lol.

Due to using cardboard spool PLA on a print this long, I got AMS errors constantly and it drew the process out to about 52 hours. I understand the potential issues with using PLA outdoors, and plan on using some form of sealant.
