Description

This is a print in place Bambu Lab Duct for the X1C, P1P, P1S, and P1E.

The supports are already added on the vent area and will need to be removed after printing. see photo posted

  • A 3mf file has been provided painted and not panted version
  • total grams used for this print is 12.76
  • using standard setting for Bambu it will print in under 1h

The model is scaled to ABS and ASA standards.

  • it has been tested on a P1S and a X1C.

this model requires (2) 4x2mm magnets if you want the base to magnetize to the existing shroud.

please be aware that to install this you might have to gently remove some glue around the edge of the plastic. some shrouds and ducts are glued in place. also the two fasteners that hold the existing duct in place are meant to be reused on the new duct.

Why this duct. it centralizes the air around the nozzle and dose not blow the air to one side like the original duct. it also improves the overall localized flow. It uses Laminar flow to make the air more stable as it gets to the cooling area.

Special thanks to JoeMikeMakes for beta testing this on his X1C

Please Note: I have added a new .stl version and updated the .3mf file with the Right magnet removed “Bambu G Duct Lidar Void UPDATE” for more clearance for the lidar camera and sensor on the X1C. This prevents the printer from giving a errors that the lidar is covered. I have created Built in support that will need to be removed on the lidar side.

I tried this on my x1c. I used the version without the extra magnet and i get lidar error codes. I think the wall on the side with the lidar hangs down too far blocking the sensor. Compared to the stock part that is a few millimeters higher. Other than that, the air flow seems great.

do you think I should create a version with a little less out of the skirt for the lidar? I would have to create a Brake-away portion for it let me know if this is something you would like to see and ill add a variant.

I have created a new Version with lidar area removed like the original. I have created custom built in supports for that version. Hope this fixes the Lidar Error. Cheers Gul

I actually wanted to buy a similar component, but luckily I stumbled across this model. could be printed in asa without any problems and makes a good impression.

I'm glad you enjoy it and I truly hope the whole community enjoys it. here is a little behind the seances of hours of work optimizing and making this as good as I could make it. though this might look the same the vents and internals are all different.

very good model, ABS print using Orca Slicer. however had trouble with the plate grip on the built in supports. did some corrections in the slicer, but these would be better executed in CAD. I highly recommend adding the perimeter of the first layer of the 4 small supports to a 7mm X 7mm X 0.2 size. This definitely kept them planted at the speed of the Bambu ABS on a textured plate. I did not post a review because I thought you would appreciate the photos and thoughts for continuous improvement. I need to get the magnets… however Thank You Very Much! the model is great. the printing part on my part needed some adjusting so the quality in the photos is 100% me.

I would like to know the same :D Or even better: PETG-CF Would be really great if a PETG(-CF) printprofile could be added :)

I've tested a fan duct that printed with PETG-CF,it melted after several printing.

should I use polycarbonate for this if I print a lot of abs and ASA? I'm not sure how well ASA would hold up.

Im curious about the same. I am worried about the lidar and the fact that i print a lot of ASA

Yes, it has been tested. I will be making another version without the magnet on that side. Please note it is a small print easy to test. I'll post the new print with no magnet tomorrow.

Yes, I have fixed all issues and made a vision where the laser issue is no longer a issue build in custom supports for that side.

Any examples of how it improves prints?

there is a major improvement here is the before with bambu's classics air duct, and after. You be the judge.

it improves the flow and moves the flow from the far left to closer to the center of the nosel. the stock one pushes air all the way to the left.

did you guys have a black adhesive on your stock fan shroud ?

Some fans are glued in on the older tool heads there so slowly take it off. yes, I had some on mine as well.

just a thought but, shouldn’t the larger openings be the ones further away from the fan? seems counterproductive to allow more flow where the most output is and then restrict the back.

I have been working in Flow for 20 years, and no, that is not how Flow works. Due to the turbulence next to the nosel, you need larger holes next to the fan. The other side has laminar flow so you can get away with smaller openings and a similar flow rate.
