Description

Designed to fit various small 250g spools. Screws together in 3 pieces. Tapered ends allow you to get a good tight fit on the spool.

Comparison of Version #1.0 and Version #2.0

Version #2.8 is an alternate version.

It features a threaded shaft that is 10mm taller & a hex base for the threaded nut portion.

(The 3 different parts for Version #2.0 and Version #2.8 are interchangeable)

I like the concept and the simple design. The screw on end cap is also a plus since it should work with a variety of smaller spools other than the Sunlu 250g that I'm currently testing it with. my only issue is it seems the weight of the spool is pulling it away from the AMS, ever so slightly. I worry that if I don't check it regularly, it may fall off eventually. would smaller dimensions fix this? how small is too small? I want to print 3 more, but would like to see if we can find a solution. Also the filament seems to grind against the side of the spool and it's pulling into the AMS. I'm not sure if anything can be done about this. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Thought: could you make this cone portion flatter? so the spool is closer to the AMS overall? I think that would help with the weight distribution and limit some of the drag.

you would probably then need to make the screw itself a little longer? so the cap on the other side could still reach.

Thank you for the feedback. Other users suggested some improvements that you may have wanted. With Version #2.8 - the threaded shaft bolt (Part #2) is 10mm longer and the nut portion (Part #3) has a hex base for improved grip. https://makerworld.com/en/models/465409#profileId-426518 The new parts are interchangeable with the model you already printed.

Hello. I'm not sure that I understand your question. This works on the AMS Lite & that works the same whether the AMS Lite is connected to the A1 or the A1 Mini.

Works perfectly. Sanding down the smaller circle part, quite sharp.

You saved me a bunch. I ordered a box of 8 Sunlu mini spools not realizing they would fit my AMS Lite. Thanks so much, a great design. You could make it even better if the threads extended about a cm more and the cone/nut didn't have the sharp edge but was a hex shape or such to get a better grip on. I really appreciate your effort.
