Description

I have been playing with ball joint techniques for a bit now and decided to take a stab at making a monarch with wings that attached via ball joint so that they can move around and be placed in different positions. The fit is quite tight but they loosen up a bit the more you move them.

Simply print the wings and the body and then push the the ball into the space in the body until it clicks in and then adjust to your desired position. The wings can go on either side depending upon how you want to position them. On one side they look better spread as if the monarch is flying and then swapping them will make them look better closed together as if the monarch is on a flower.

I have included adjustable holes in the bottom of the body for magnets. The current size is 8 mm X 2mm magnets but you can easily make those bigger or smaller in the slicer to fit your magnet size.

Happy printing!
