Please note: I am using a filament profile with a Flow Ratio of 1.045 at 255 °C for first and 265 °C for other layers. Part cooling fan > Keep fan always on is OFF. I just printed another insert and realized it was too small with the normal Bambu PETG Basic profile but fits with my custom profile. Also, I am printing with a AliExpress knockoff CHT nozzle. If the insert size doesn't work for you as is, consider scaling it up in the slicer. To prevent wasting time and a print, you can pause the print after like 4 mm and take a measure of the thread with a caliper (thick part to measure surface/most outer diameter of the thread). It should be 5.7X mm. If it is, resume printing, if it isn't, abort and scale up. |
I bought this generic 13 piece “carving knife set” from AliExpress the other day and already used it alot. One day, one of the plastic inserts that function as knife fasteners snapped on me, so I decided to measure it and remodel it in F360. I am still very new to modeling and 3D printing but after some fiddling around, it came out perfect and is better than the original one.
The knife set is super cheap and essentially a throw-away product but I hate throwing stuff away that can be fixed. So I did.
I printed the part in Bambu PETG Basic with a .4 nozzle and the “0.08 mm Extra Fine” preset and randomized seam.
You can get the knife set here, for example: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_De1Ghqb (affiliate link).
For assembly, insert the plastic part into the upper aluminum part, insert a blade into the plastic part, then carefully push the blade and plastic part down. After, proceed to screw on the handle. Done!
