Description

A dessicant container curved to go directly next to your filament (on the spool) and into a dry bag or box. The container has several curves to make sure there is plenty of airflow between the dessicant and your filament maximizing drying. There is a lot of surface area so all the dessicant in the container will effectively remove moisture from the air (many designs hold a lot of dessicant but don't have much surface area so they are not as effective).

This model also contains a custom fit funnel (for printing in vase mode) and a tight snap-on lid for the container.

3 containers can easily fit around one spool, print as many as you need for the level of drying you require.

NOTE:

In my experience with PLA and PETG, the lid is a tight snap fit immediately after printing.  After the lid has been on the container for a day or two, the fit loosens up a bit - but it is still a reliable snap closure even after some filament creep.  I wanted to make sure the lid didn't get loose and potentially spill the desiccant beads.

If you want a looser fitting lid, I uploaded one with more clearance here:

Let me know if the original lid works well for you, or if you needed the looser fit.

Thanks!

Printing with petg is particularly prone to breakage

It looks like low layer adhesion may be contributing to the failures you are seeing since it is along the layer lines. Have you tried: * Slowing down your print speed * Increasing your print temperature a bit * Lowering cooling a bit You could also try the lid with a bit more clearance if you think the lid is causing the breakage: https://makerworld.com/en/models/466324#profileId-375297 Let me know if any of these tips help. Thanks!

@Tigerking Please try this design with increased lid tolerance and let me know if it works better for you: https://makerworld.com/en/models/466324#profileId-375297 The lid is a tight snap fit. This will loosen up a bit over time as the filament creeps. You should be able to snap the lid in (with some effort initially and easier after a day or so), but you could scale the lid by a few percent to get an easier fit.

Replying to @Tigerking :

On X1C Printed a few in ABS and they came out great. The MK4 and A1 printed but too much shrinkage.
