Description

I made this deckbox because I have a bunch of decks which I want to bring to my monthly EDH / Commander groups. This deckbox is made extra deep so it can carry tokens and still display the commander on the front of the box. I put all my deckboxes into a camera bag, that way I can quickly grab the right decks out of the bag or off the shelf.

Check out my MTG Counters in Card Container for a sliding counter container that fits this deckbox's token compartment.

!! PRINT TIPS !!

  1. Always print this model with the AUX Fan disabled. Large and flat models have a tendency to warp when you enable this fan.
  2. This print looks and feels best with a matte filament. If you use a basic PLA you might have a hard time opening the lid. Consider using the customizer to increase the “LidEasierSnap” to 0.2

EDH Decks

This deckbox fits any number of double sleeved cards + whatever you can fit into the token compartment. As long as it fits on your print plate.

Showcase

The front of the deckbox can display your commander. This way you don't have to search through deckboxes or remember colors to find the right deck. Optionally you can insert the commander into a toploader to protect it. The toploader fits in the showcase slot.

Tight Lid

The lid is a tight friction fit to prevent the box from opening in a bag.

No Magnets or Other Parts

All you need to do is print the model. No other parts are required. Even the toploader is optional as a double sleeved commander also will not fall out of the showcase slot. But if you're using a toploader anyway, it fits nicely into this MTG Command Zone.

This model is an iteration on my previous deckbox. If you want to download the old version, you can find it here.

Great deck box, no issues printing 2 of them so far with pla on a P1S. I really love the ability to customize a token section!

I really like the box; I am thinking about using the customization options for an unsleeved storage box. It looks like the 2nd layer of the lid has an unsupported outer wall because of the angle though.

Could you maybe add a screenshot and indicate what you mean? I designed the lid to be printed upside down. When you do this, there is never any overhang over 45 degrees. Most printers should be able to print that no problem. Be sure to check the uploaded print profile for reference.

Here is the first and 2nd layer using the profile given. This is in Orca and I do not have a bambu printer, but it does it with my profiles also and with elephant's foot compensation off.

I see what you mean, thanks for taking a screenshot. I haven't had any print failures due to this on my printers. I've printed 18 of these boxes. But if you really want to prevent it, you can use the customizer to set the "OuterWallRadius" in the Advanced section to 1.6. This will make the corners sharper and prevent the overhang wall on layer 2.

Love it! I've been looking for deckboxes for various games and customising them is a pain. This gives me the ability to keep any deck + related tokens. Is there any possibility of the Commander showcase compartment having an option to turn it off like the token compartment? Not every game has something to showoff at the front!

Hi, thanks for the boost! I've tried removing the commander showcase. However, it doesn't suit the design. Because of how the lid is designed, if the front of the deckbox is flush, it is really had to open the deckbox. This is why I decided to not include that feature. You could of course just add a nice piece of art in the showcase compartment.
