Description

This trash can is an eye-catching item to have in any office. It prints at 7 inches tall by 6 inches across but can be scaled to be larger or smaller easily. Just be sure to scale it the same in all dimensions.

This is printed in 3 pieces, so filament changes can be reduced to a minimum. The stars section (the canton) is printed flat and wrapped around during assembly. A liner is included to strengthen the can and to block light from bleeding through the white sections.

AMS Colors needed:

  • Dark Blue
  • White
  • Dark Red
  • Black (this could be changed to any dark color)

Instructions:

  1. Print all 3 pieces. Don't forget the liner profile. NOTE: This is included as a separate profile as Bambu Studio is not able to mix vase-mode prints together with standard prints) in one file.
  2. Gently curl the canton section using you hands to match the roundness of the recessed section of the trash can. Use a hair-dryer to make it more pliable if needed. Continue until the print has a little bit of a curl.
  3. Grab some Superglue (CA) and add a thin line to the right recessed area.
  4. Carefully line the canton up to the right edge and ensure that it is in the correct alignment so that it will wrap around the can.
  5. Press onto the glue strip and hold (or clamp) for 1-2 minutes until it holds. I found it easy to hold it flat & face-down against the desktop.
  6. Reach under the middle section of canton and add a thin line of glue.
  7. Bend the canton so that the middle section contacts the glue. Be sure to support the right edge whilst you do this.
  8. Hold or clamp the middle section for another 1-2 minutes.
  9. Add a final line of glue underneath the left side, and then press into place.
  10. Hold or clamp for 1-2 minutes.
  11. Add a drop of Superglue to the bottom of the liner section and then push this inside the can.
