Description

The American flag! You will need a multicolor printer for this model. The cover photo shows Old Glory printed at 200%. I would not scale it any (or much) smaller, because then the stars may not print well. If you are going to increase the scale, I would decrease the amount of walls in the print profile, so it doesnt print solid - to save some filament. Enjoy!

That is bad ass! Can the P1P do that? I need to learn how...

yes. so load the model and then load the model. You wanna flush to on the same plate than you right click on that model and you go down to flush options and you click flesh infill and flesh into object I use these skills a lot because they’re tall they use a little more filament and some of the other objects, but they’re taller than most of my objects that I’m gonna multicolor print

This is simply stunning and with the settings and I printed at .08mm the layer lines are gone. Great work on this! Thanks for the dedication to get it right! it's a lot of hard work! Talk about..."O say can you see, by the dawn's early light What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming Whose broad stripes and bright stars...

Oh, it took 3 days 20 hours and 29 mins, 1701 filament changes and used 1650.21g of filament! But it was worth it all man!!

damn! I’m so glad it printed well for you! it’s a risky print for sure. My P1P was printing my flags beautifully, and now all of a sudden it’s not. Trying to print the Scottish flag, and it looks awful and keeps messing up. Might have to try drying the filament and doing a maintenance routine. if you ever print it again, I added a second print profile - it saves time and filament without losing quality.

Being a Veteran seeing this has made me fall in love with the flag all over again. It is printing Perfectly as we speak! No layer lines almost and I printed in Matte filament. WOW!

This is a great looking model and I'm sure it looks great completed. However, it is an extremely long and fragile print job for my P1S. I have had to restart this print twice now and there won't be another. The blue and white field is extremely taxing on the printer with constant purging and filament changes. My poop chute became obstructed and the print head cover collided with the purge tower. Very frustrating indeed.

sorry to hear about your troubles. it is definitely a challenging print. I’m about to upload another profile that knocks off 3hrs and saves almost 100g of filament, with no quality differences. I may also upload a profile that has the Stars and Stripes separate from each other and can be glued together at the end. would be easier to print.

That looks a lot cleaner printing separately! How was gluing it together?? (I don't want to freak you out, but it looks like the stars are upside down)

Easy to glue together! My dad loved it. If its upside down I like it better that way!😆

BEAUTIFUL print in Bambu matte PLA. One of my very favorite! The amount of poops made from this model is astronomical. Be prepared. Otherwise, printed very well with this profile.

printed 5 at a time to spread out the waste a little. these things are solid! I used red/blue overture pla silk and white overture matte. is it necessary to use 5 walls instead of 4-5?

no, I used 5 walls to make it solid. if you’re scaling them up or don’t care that they aren’t solid, you can bump the walls down

absolutely love how this print turned out. went to 200% took about 20 hours and a metric F ton of poop but totally worth it. just in time for the 4th of July. ‘Merica!!!!!!
