Hello,
I want to share my speaker grill project for the Creative GigaWorks T20 Series I.
After years of use, the original grills were damaged, so I decided to create my own, more durable versions.
The designed grills fit the first revision of the speakers (in grey) and their posts operate much more smoothly during assembly than the originals.
I encourage modifications if anyone encounters problems with the frame moving too easily.
I have prepared three usage variants for the grills:
- Using supports, the front mesh aligns flush with the grill frame.
- Supportless, which causes the mesh to be recessed by 2 mm. For this variant, I recommend using 100% infill for this variant to ensure the mesh still looks aesthetic after removing the supports.
- With 60 DEN tights, attached to the grill with a frame. In my speakers, I used a less rigid frame to hold the tights, which looks okay and functions properly, but it's very delicate and the tights can easily be pulled out from under the frame. Over time, I created a more durable version that works perfectly in this role.
ADDITIONAL INFO:
- In the photo featuring two speakers with "tights" covers, the one on the left has the original grill with tights, and the one on the right is entirely of my making with a less rigid frame.
- Regarding the photo showing the supports removed from the mesh, do not worry about the posts appearing significantly offset. The final project is correctly measured and printed, photo is meant to demonstrate how the cover looks in the second usage variant.
