Description

Adapter for Bambu Lab refill

The reason this adapter came alive is a poor mistake of mine:

I've ordered my first set of filaments as refill without the reusable spool (that also has been out of stock for a while).

Found printable solution are too large in terms of diameter for the A1 Mini so I ended up ordering a set of eSUN reusable spool for the sidewalls and designed a solution to match with the already available filament.

Present solution based on the application of the two sidewalls of an eSUN reusable spool kit. The model utilizes two twist-lock caps (Lockring.stl) with recessed outer wallt to fit the original A1Mini spool holder. The adapter body (spool_body.stl) designed for Bambu Lab's refill.

The application is simple:

  1. Place one of the eSUN sidewalls onto a lock ring. Make sure it fits with the right diameter and the smooth surface faces inwards.
  2. Grab the spool body and twist the previous subassembly on it tightly.
  3. Take the Bambu Lab refill and follow their instructions for the application.
  4. Place the second sidewall on the leftover locking similar to the other side.
  5. Secure the other side too with the twisting motion.
  6. Make sure both the sidewalls are secured by the lock ring.
  7. Now follow the instructions included with the Bambu Lab refill.

I hope you find my solution useful and had a good time manufacturing and using it.

Cheers,

TRPG
