Summary

MEET FiBo BigBox - The Filament Box!

FiBo - Filament BigBox:

This is the new BigBox Version of my FiBo Box: FiBo - Filament Box by Piddey - MakerWorld

Designed to carry ISO filament spools with 300mm diamenter and a width of 102mm, and bigger ones!

If you want to crate your own "SampleCards" with stuff like imprinted print settings, the dimensions are: 91mm x 70mm x 1.80mm
(no, I do not have the skills to create a customizable design here)

All models available in STL and 3MF file format!
The numbers in the filenames represent the spool sizes they are intended for.

Features:

  • 4 ball bearings to hold the spools in the base
  • a groove to insert a 2mm thick rubber thread/cord to seal the box
  • PTFE coupler in the front for filament usage directly out of the box
  • a slot on the front face to insert a small filament sample (FiBo SampleCard)
  • FiBo SampleCard - a sample and of the filament inside the box to look and touch
  • also fits on your existing FiBo Pipe Shelf! (currently working on supports to make them sit more stable on the shelf)
  • the base can be filled with silicagel to keep the filament dry
  • Filament Plug

Required parts for one box:

(the links contain the materials I use.buy wherever you want)

Small inspiration: use different colors for each material type. I'm using:
PLA: white box with anthracite clips
PETG: antracite box with white clips
Create your own designs and color codings

Additional sizes for thicker spools can be added by request.

Notes:

My full print settings:

  • Nozzle: 0.4mm
  • Layer Height: 0.2mm
  • Perimeters: 2
  • Bottom/Top Layers: 4
  • Infill: 10% (rectilinear)

Supports are required for:

  • the *Ball Bearing Pins" in base
  • Depending on your printer's 'bridging skills' you should also add some supports to the Filament sample slot on the lids front and the recesses in the base

YES! This will take some time to print ;-)
