A model to allow iDoo or similar hydroponic systems pods/baskets to be moved to a 500g yogurt container.

This is a simple lid for a typical 500g yogurt pot. It lets you move the pod and basket from an iDoo or similar system into a dedicated container without having to remove the plant/sponge from the cage and potentially damage the roots.

With systems like the iDoo 12 pod, you can typically run out of space as leafy greens start to mature. This allows you to move plants out of the iDoo easily. The baskets for these are typically about 30mm in diameter below the lip at the top.

The pots I use are 500g yogurt pots with an upper diameter of about 95mm. Cover the pots with something light-proof to avoid promoting algae growth. I tend to use off-cuts of foil, but you can paint them etc. Just keep the light out.

NB as you are moving from a more active system of growth into something that's more like a Kratky system (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kratky_method) you must leave an air gap of 2-3cm at the top of the pot. i.e. Don't fill the pot to the top with the hydroponic solution.

I've used this for leafy salad greens, just keep an eye on the hydroponic solution levels as the plant matures.

There are no special print requirements. However, if you grow in a very hot place, it may be worth printing in PETG rather than PLA. That said, I've not personally had issues with PLA on windowsills.
